Most futures brokers will also offer an option service, although
some will not offer direct market access on a trading
platform and require business to be transacted across the
telephone. Most brokers will not allow retail clients to engage in
selling options due to the increased risks involved.
Some Spread Betting
companies offer option trading and in some circumstances
allow traders to run both long and short positions in these
instruments (buying and selling options).If the spread betting
company does offer these products they are generally only provided
on the more liquid markets and tend to be concentrated on the
indices, major currencies and some of the popular commodities such
as gold and oil.
