Put Options

A buyer of a put option expects the market to fall below the reference or strike price whilst a seller does not expect the market to fall to or go below this point. As with a call option the seller of the option will charge a premium to the buyer and the same factors are taken into account when setting the price; time until the option expires, current price of the underlying market and the volatility of the market.
